Nope.... no one watches baseball..... I find it more boring than golf and watching a dryer at the Laundromat!!!!!

It's a big business and yes some markets are bigger than others particularly the Yankees. Attendance is till good at most parks and it is watched constantly on TV. You can see a Braves game on tv nearly every night. Also sporting good stores and team stores sell memoribillia and merchandise. That is how some big name players can get big contracts.
