It's constantly hard, or it gets hard then relaxes, then gets hard again? If it's the second one, you are having contractions. If it's the first one and your having any kind of belly pain, it might mean a problem with your placenta. You are too early to wait around at home while you decide what is going on. Call your doctor ASAP. He/She will probably want you to head to the hospital for a preterm labor check.

Look up Braxton Hicks (sp?) Contractions. It may be that your muscles are getting ready for the real thing. This is NORMAL the third trimester, as long as it is not accompanied but any change in your discharge (ie: spotting). The advice I have always gotten whenever I have called to check if I'm ok or not has been: Drink a glass of water, take 2 Tylenol, and lay down for 1 hour. If I am still experiencing pain, then call the ER to see if there is anything else they recommend.

could be that the baby has moved into a position that is uncomfortable for you to do anything. I've had that happen to me during all 5 of my pregnancies. For me it was normal. As far as the pain goes, it could be gas you just don't know it. It could be something more like your appendix. If the pain is to the point that when you press your fingers down on your abdomen and lift your fingers really fast and the pain is SOOOOO unbearable you may want to go to the emergency room. That's your appendix. This might help if it is in fact gas and you can't feel it moving around your intestines...drink a couple of tablespoons of Mylanta, lay on your side for about 30 minutes with a pillow between your legs. After a while you'll be fine. IF though it doesn't help, i would suggest go to the emergency room:) GL Hun :)

I think you should follow the advice of the nurse and call a medical professional. This is your life and the life of your baby that could be in jeopardy here, not to alarm you but it is better to be safe then sorry. Call your doctor, I'm sure he/she gets plenty of these calls all the time.

I would call your Dr. I know at about that time in all of my pregnancies my abdomen was irritated and felt like my skin was being pulled but it sounds more like a contraction that you are describing. Better safe than sorry call your Dr.

It could be Braxton-Hicks contractions; those usually don't hurt. However, I don't know how long they're supposed to last; you should try calling a health care professional to be sure.
