Expoler with the 4L. I work in a garage and all the ones I have in for maintance are well over 350 000km. They last and are a nice ride. I drive a Ranger, that is the exact same as the explorer aside from having a box. And it has plenty of power and is pretty good on gas. It rides nice, and is very dependable. The 4L engines are very well built adn have few problems. The Jimmy/blazers have quite a few engine problems, most are internal and left becasue they are not noticed. Also the way the heads and intake are bolted down cause many leaks that are expencive to fix. The average milage i see these things die at is about 240 000km,

A full sized Blazer (the smaller S-10 type are rollover prone) or a Ford Explorer.. the newer the better.. the lower the miles the better.. remember you are buying miles.. condition and how it has been cared for is most important..both are dependable and easy to get parts.

96-98 Chevy Blazer. That should be around that price range. They don't have a large price tag for most of their replacement parts. and easy to fix yourshelf.
