I don't want to scratch the surface, or throw it out - it was a gift from a very good friend. Would boiling water ruin the finish? I don;t think I can freeze it without cracking it. Any ideas?

If the wax is on the inside of the bowl, run the outside of the bowl under hot tap water....vice-verse if it's on the outside. The wax should peel right off without completely melting.

Freezer would work, but try keeping it in the window in direct sunlight or on a heater, perhaps blowdryer to melt the wax enough to peel it off.

Make sure the wax has hardened then gently scrape it off with your fingernail. Then run it through the dishwasher. If you don't have a dishwasher, then wash it with a rough dishcloth and hot soapy water.

Try using a blow hair dryer to soften the wax and gently remove with a cloth.
We have used the hair dryer method at church to remove melted wax from candlesticks, etc.

microwave it and wipe off as much as you can. If there is residue you can try a nylon scrubber or a product called bartenders friend. It's white and comes in a container like Comet Cleanser. It is made to clean glasses.

I would try a hair drier. Or even if that does not work rubbing the wax with ice mabe it will crack off. Good Luck!

Pop it in the micro-wave for a few seconds. The wax will wipe right off.

warm water, not boiling, just hot from the tap let it run on it a few min and it will come right off

Put it in the freezer for about an hour. It will come right off.
