The flakes are clear thin pieces that almost look like dust? Their water is clean and they are acting normal. I just heard that some things can make their skin flake off. Please help

Like all reptiles, the do shed their skin. Usually you can't see it happening, but if you see it alot, you may be overfeeding them causing them to grow at a faster rate. Also, are you using UVA/UVB lighting and is your basking area the right temperature? If so, I say you have nothing to worry about.

Like all reptiles, your turtles will shed their skin as they grow (they'll also shed plates off their shell); that's normal. Other things that can cause the skin to slough off are disease, infection, or water that is too "acidic" for the turtles to tollerate.

Its called growing. As they age they do this.
