This is her Aunt
. She just confessed to her mother. Her mom was, is, very angry and told her she was gonna get it, but when she saw how my niece tried to clean up the mess she just said "Well that stain will be there forever. Don't do it again" Mom's words hurt more than a punishment OUCH!
Thank you for all of your suggestions. We used Dawn and Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. It got the polish off but unfortuately it also lightened that area where the polish was.
Now she has a war story to tell. And be forgiving to her children when they spill nail polish on her leather sofa.
Thank you for coming to her aid so quickly. Her Aunt

Nail polish remover will definitely work. A friend spilled White-Out on a very expensive leather jacket of mine a few years ago, and a bit of nail polish remover took it right off and didn't damage the leather. Good luck sweetie!

Okay, first stop with the panic. Leather is super resillient and can be repaired. Remove the polish with Nail polish remover blotting up with a rag. when the leather dries match it up with shoe or boot polish that is as close a match as possible. It will be fine. Good Luck.

UR gonna have 2 fess up - I'm sorry - I'm afraid it's wrecked now. Maybe a leather specialist could save it, but nothing U can do.- You COULD try shoe polish in a similar color to the leather - but I don't think it will work 100%

There's really nothing you can do. Other than nail polish remover to finish getting the stain out. Then, if you could get away with it...brown marker??? or....just be honest with her.

Or.... you could go to your phone book and see if there are any all-night dry cleaners and see if they have any suggestions. They are usually the experts in fabric care and cleaning. Just a thought.
