Whitman was from Jersey.

I'd say e.e. cummings.

But Emerson did live in a shack...
And Dickinson locked herself in a room for her entire life.
and e.e. cummings just did a lot of coke....

I'm sticking with e.e. cummings.

But out of all the poets you listed... Whitman is by far my favorite, but he wasn't from New England.

I'd say Frost, because he used many New England settings as motifs in his poems.

The others on your list, although great poets, are not as closely identified to New England as is Frost.

If you're looking at just the four you listed, I'd put Emerson at the bottom of the list. I would have a difficult time choosing a "best" from the other three, because they are all great in their own ways.

Frost, for sure. He lived to be reeeeeal old AND wrote a poem just for JFK's inaugeration.
