Most of those people are the ones who go running around yelling about how good diversity is especially with so many of those diverse people being illegal aliens. English should be officially designated by Congress as the official language of this country and everyone who wants to become a citizen should be required to pass both a verbal and written test demonstrating their knowledge and ability to speak the language. I'm sick of hearing announcements in the store in both English and Spanish, not to mention seeing signs in both and the list is endless. Why do you never see signs and announcements in Swahili or Russian for example? Maybe its because they take the trouble to learn the language - its just the Mexicans that won't. Learn the language or leave the country!!!

Just a note to some people on here, English isn't the official language of the USA. There is no official national language.

u . s . a . HAS NO stable LANGUAGE - and would by no ability HAVE ONE... it truly is a political stunt for a situation that doesn't exist. This u . s . a . has continuously had a large bite of immigrants, criminal and unlawful, who struggled with or did not talk English. In 231 years why the unexpected desire for a countrywide Language?

it should be the official language and anyone who gets a job here should be required to learn it. i'm getting sick and tired of working and shopping places where no speaks english. maybe some of you think that's racist.....but i've had to move to another county and took the time to learn the language......common sense if you ask me.

Well, it's a bad idea if your agenda is multi-culturalism at any cost so as to usher in 'one world government' and marginalize industrial nations.
It's a good idea if you cringe at the thought of taxes going up and wonder how else we're going to pay for every government form to be translated, printed, and distributed in fourteen different languages.

Who thinks that?
For the record, I am one "lib" who thinks we absolutely should make English the official language. It's long overdue.

Because Amarica isn't made from only one kind of people, is made with different kinds, Asians, Latins, English, Pollacks, Germans, etc. Emerican English is full of word from different languages, ex: taco, enchilada, salsa, rodeo, sucshi, won ton, etc.
