You don't have a choice of you have a natural OR c-section.
The doctor will give you a c-section if it is medical necessary
As for pain...Yes it does hurt. But there are a lot of different medicine out there to help you with that.
Epidurals are great.
I think you need to worry about more things then the birth that you cant control.
About the father...a job...good education...
good luck

Normal you don't have the choice between Cesarean section and natural. C-sections are used in emergency situations, for previous c-sections, high risk pregnancies, or mommy pelvises that are to small. Most women want a natural birth. Yes it hurts but that is the facts or life. C-sections are not completely pain free. They do staple your incision after the birth is done. This calls for a longer recovery period. Both natural and C-section are bearable or else women wouldn't have more than one child. Also they offer various medications during labor to take the edge off of contractions or even an epidural. Good luck and I would check into prenatal/parenting classes if you haven't done so already. I had my first son @ 16 and these classes will help you prepare a great amount.

Good for you for telling your parents! This is a scary thing you are going through and I am so glad they reacted well. Definitely go to the childbirth education classes at your hospital, they really help no matter what type of delivery you have. You will also want to go on the hospital tour so it is not as scary when you go in.
Most of the time you are not given the choice to have a c-section unless there is a medical reason for it. A c-section is still a major surgery and should be avoided if possible (though if you do need one, are often very safe with a good outcome for both mom and baby)
Natural childbirth is very painful if done without medication to dull or numb the pain. You will be able to talk with your doctor about you options here. An epidural can effectively numb you from the waist down- so you feel no pain, just pressure. (Having had a natural and unmedicated delivery, and a c-section in a later pregnancy, I would HIGHLY recommend having a natural delivery, it is so much easier to recover from! )
Also, go ahead and go to the parenting a newborn class- woman in their 40's attend this so it has nothing to do with your age. Babies do not come with an instruction booklet and being as educated as you can before your little one gets here will make things much smoother for you both. Good luck to you, you are very brave to be handling it this well.

Natural you get a choice of an epidural or not. From what I have heard is natural can be painful without an epidural but is only fleeting. With an epidural you can feel alot of pressure. Usually doctors don't give a c section unless there are complications or if you have already had a c section. It is painful somewhat because it involves surgery so takes a little more time to heal. I would recommend trying whatever you feel you want. I personally want to have a natural birth. Every person is different though. Good luck.

Yes hon, natural birth is painful. I had my 1st child the day before my 16th birthday (she's 13 today!!). Most hospitals don't give you a choice between C-section or natural. C-section is usually done for emergencies only, or if the Dr knows ahead of time that the baby can't be born naturally, then they schedule it. Try this website for all kinds of info on pregnancy and childbirth http://www.babycenter.com See if your parents can't get you the book What to Expect While Your Expecting. Go to the library and get educated on this kind of stuff. The more informed you are the better decisions you can make for yourself and the baby. Good luck honey and congrats!!!

Generally, unless there is a complication (like a problem with your placenta or a breech baby), you don't get a choice. You will most likely start with labor or an induction of labor, and if things don't go according to plan, then you will have a c-section. There are risks and benefits with both kinds of deliveries.
ANY WAY YOU GIVE BIRTH IT WILL BE PAINFUL. No way around that. Just do your research, decide how much you are willing to endure, and make the best decision for you.

I had my first baby at 16, my grandma told me it was the closest to death I'd ever be. She was sooooo wrong. Fear is the worse part of it. Do your research, ask lots of questions, even if you think it's stupid. Don't go into it thinking about the pain, go in thinking about what you'll get out of it, the first time you meet your child! You will have pain, it is worse for some than others, know your options for pain management, I recommend epidurals, I have had 2, it was great, although there are risks with anything. You really should avoid a c-section. I haven't had one, but I was a OB nurse for 3 years, and I was the one who worked with the Doctors in the OR to do c-sections. It can cause alot of problems for future babies. Call your local hospital and find out about classes (I taught them) Go to all of them you can, you'll learn alot. And In the state I live in, it's mom's choice.

I recommend natural. It can be painful but you can get an epidural if you want one and that will help a great deal with the pain. You should take one of those birthing classes where you learn all about the birth of a baby and what to expect and stuff.
C-sections tend to have a longer and more painful recovery afterwards. you are taking the risk of getting an infection too.
