Truth can be stranger than fiction, and just as painful. You have at least three choices to make. 1) Accept it, 2) reach some sort of compromise or you guessed it, 3) reject and move on. Life is very complicated in our so called modern society, and extended family situations are becoming more frequent. Follow your heart, include your head, and remember what ever happens will also affect other people, besides yourself. Good Luck.

This maybe a bit strange, but it would behoove you to accept the fact that they are both adults and free to make their own decisions. If you don't see your sister in law as a step-mom then don't see her as one. You are an adult also, you don't need a step-mom your relationship with her doesn't have to become a mother daughter one. If you feel that your father is untrue and you have warned her and she didn't heed that warning, then like the rest of us she will have to deal with her consequences and so will your father. Enjoy your husband and your child/children and let grown people do what grown people do. You have a marriage to to perfect and a child to raise.

I wish I had advice for you, but all I can say is that is a very strange situation. I can't imagine how that feels. They will never see where your coming from though. You could talk until your blue in the face and they still wont get it.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I wish you luck!

It is strange but after 2 years they really aren't going to leave one another if they taken the big step towards marriage.
You could either accept it (strange or not) or have them so pissed off at you that you broke them up and not have them in your life anymore. I don't think that you would like that...
I think that you should sit down and talk to them and tell them that you just feel a bit strange and though you want them happy you don't want your relationship to change with either of them. She will continue to be the sis in law and auntie, and he will continue being grandpa!

It is different, but certainly NOT illegal. You do NOT have to acknowledge her as your step mom, refer to her as your SIL for the rest of your life. Instruct you children to call her Aunt.
There is no lack of morals in this situation, but it does seem that there is a definite lack of family love and compassion.

I see insanity, all right, but I fail to see immorality in the situation.
I can understand your objections to the union, but the fact that one is related to you by blood, and one is related to your husband,
doesn't mean they'll end up in hell over it. You told her what she was in for, and she chose to ignore your warning. They are obviously adults, and they will do what they want, regardless of what you "refuse" to have. I don't blame you for not liking it, but what choice do you have other than to accept it ?

Nope, as two adults I doubt very much if the NEED your permission let alone your approval to get married. You don't get to dictate who these two people marry.
