80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable..... a change in attitude is whay u need.

The point of living is not being dead. Besides, life only sucks for a coward. I was like that for a number of years until I realized I could do whatever the hell I want to do. Life sucked until I decided if I wanted to sleep with a hooker, I could. If I wanted to travel to New Zealand, I could. I can do anything. Life is now full of possibility instead of suckiness.

I understand that chemical imbalances can create depression. However, in general, happiness is a choice you must make every day and, if you're inclined to being depressed or unhappy, maybe even every few hours. And for some of us, it's not easy. Sometimes, we actually have to -- oh my God! -- work at it. Just like any kind of skill -- video games, carpentry, painting -- you have to practice a little to get better at it. Try it some time, and see if life isn't just a little more pleasant to have around. (See if your friends and family don't find you a little more pleasant to have around also.)

Life is journey, good and bad, happy and sad, single or with someone, rich or poor, just so many things about life. Its a learning experience and you could one day invent something, meet your soul mate, anything. This topic can go on and on, just make the best of what you might have or not have, compare yourself to someone with less and maybe even more, many times I wish could win the lotto and quit my job and spend all my time with my kids, but God has granted me health and healthy kids and what more could I ask for??? Sorry this is so long, but you have to sometimes sit back and see the world around you and go from there?? Good Luck and God Bless.

switch things up in your life and get out of the rut.. maybe a change of scenery will do the trick. start over and say screw what is ever making u depressed.. Believe me that being happy is the ultimate gola but requiers sacrifices that nobody fully knows. The Whoa Is ME approach doesnt get any thing accomplished except digging yourself in a deeper depresion. My advise to you would be to suck it up and make something of yourself.. God is amazing. ask him for help if you have no other options and he always comesthrough.. its up to you to lift your head and refuse to witther in self pitty. Best of luck to you

For some, life sucks! For others, they suck! So what’s the difference between what sucks who or who sucks what? Life must go on and one is obligated to do what he/she may make out of it! So keep digging and you will get somewhere someday.

The point of life is death. The point of death is the continuation of your soul.

The meaning of life is found in the understanding of your soul. The soul is the product of your life. Everything you do, everything you say, everything you think, everything,,, goes into the formation of your soul.

Therefore, nurture your soul with care. Seek wisdom and truth, practice love, and relish everything in this world that is beautiful. You will find peace.
