For your question it means Short Messaging System if you were sending to someone that had a Sprint phone from your email client you would send it to 10 digit phone number @messaging.sprintpcs.com Or you could just go to this site www.messaging.sprintpcs.com and enter the phone number where it asked for it, enter the message and it will count how many spaces you had left, click send and it would route it to them the best way be it via text or short mail.
SMS used to be the Short Mail System Now it's the Short Messaging System. It started with the 2G data services on cell phones Short Mail meant that it was a short email and you used your data plan to get them. You had to sign onto the web through your phone. Was sent over the data portion and they charged for data usage. Then came vision and unlimited data as a cell phone could send and receive it. So they worked on it some more and got the messages to go over the Voice circuits and it became the Short Messaging System. Used to be with the Short Mail System if you had a data plan the messages didn't cost any extra; But when it goes through the Voice circuits they could keep better track and charge you for them. You pay for them both ways; When you get one and when you send one.
And it doesn't matter what type of service that you use because they get routed through a gateway that will send it to you phone as data if you don't have a text only phone. ie SMS vs Short Mail.

SMS means that the person that you are sending the message too has an SMS capable phone which simply means that they do not have to connect to the internet in order to send or receive the message.

I do feel guilty with this bcoz I do hit softly guys in my class but its only in a fun way, not that I like them or I got a crush on them. So as a girl, I don't think it would be fair to her that you would easily assume that she likes you. I mean you should observe if you're the only guy she is hitting in a playful manner or there are other guys in your class that she does the same gesture. If you're the only guy she's showing that action, then maybe she finds you really fun to be with than the other guys. Best thing is, if you like her, do spend more fun times with her and get to know her better. Ask her out on a date and I'm sure you'll learn the answer straight from her.
