Arnold's first movie was called "Hercules In New York."

It came out in 1970, and he was called Arnold Strong in the credits because of his long, hard to pronounce last name. Producers thought audiences wouldn't be able to understand his thick accent so they had a dutch actor voice over his lines in post production. In a newer version released on dvd, Arnold's original voice and lines were restored.

Arnold played a deaf mute hitman in his 2nd movie, "The Long Goodbye" in 1973. "Stay Hungry" from 1976 was his 3rd film, and the first time his actual voice was originally used and kept. His 4th movie was "Pumping Iron" in 1977.

Update: The guy right above tried to undercut me. He originally had just “Hercules”, which was incorrect. He saw my “Hercules in New York in 1970” and then corrected his answer. Undercutting is answering before someone else, and then later correcting it to appear to be the first one with the right answer. I was really shocked when I saw that he later corrected his answer, and to falsely point me out was extremely brash.

I did a search and found a link with someone who had a similar experience. I now know exactly how the asker in this link feels.

Hercules in New York (1970), which came before the documentaries. It was horrible and they dubbed over his voice.

Wow, somebody right below me edited and tried to improve their answer after reading mine. Too funny.

I don't know what his first low budget movie ever was (you can check iMBD yourself for that), but it was Conan the Barbarian in my life, followed by The Terminator.
