Earth is the only planet in the solar system with an orbit lying within what's known as the "habitable zone." This is a region that's neither too cold or hot where abundant liquid water can exist. With these ingredients, Earth is therefore the only planet in the solar where life AS WE KNOW IT can exist. This is not to say that life can't exist elsewhere in the solar system, only that it would have to be radically different than what we're familiar with.
