Seriously! That commercial scares me because there have been many times over the years that I have had one that long or longer. Help!

when you get an erection, your blood flows in, and fills these sacks similar to how your lungs work. there is a valve that does not allow as much blood to flow out keeping you erect.
now, the reason why the 4 hour boners aren't good, is because those valves and sacks can get worn prematurely, or even do what would be close to a blow out, and leave you only able to do a partial hardon, or even worse, NONE AT ALL!
Priapism is nothing to mess with. In most cases, there is no real defined cause. Potential problems include clotting blood retained in the penis, and damage to the blood vessels in the penis which may result in an impaired erectile function or impotence. In serious cases the condition may result in gangrene, which may cause penis removal.
Have fun, and if you have boners that long, then either jerk off, or get some..lol but having a blow out is not something I am willing to play with.

No seriously, there are neuro conditions that can cause it including brain damage. And those commercials are for erections due to other medical problems. They are not to be used by healthy males.
For you, I'm assuming you are young, don't worry about it.

Medication causing that can be due to something more serious. It is the erection, but the fact that there may be more complications because of the medication.
If you aren't taking the meds, then don't worry about it.

after 4 hours you can begin to do permanent nerve damage inside the penis. it is very serious and requires medical attention immediately.
myself, if i completed the act and still had my buddy at attention 15 minutes later, by 25 minutes i'd be in the emergency room.
my precious friend and his jewels are at stake here. come hell or high water, they get my attention before anyone/anything else.

If you have an erection over 4 hours your blood flow to the penis stops, and blood vessels die. Thats why they have that warning.
