I just started and my flow is really heavy. I am constantly changing out pads. Will my flow ever get smaller or lessen?

It all depends on the person. Sometimes it may be heavy other times it may be light. I can't tell you for sure because everyone girl's/woman's body is different. If you're constantly changing pads, have you tried using the breand Always and using their overnight pads during the day? This would provide the maximum protection possible and might help a lot. Also, at night, MAKE SURE you have 2 pads on and they overlap in the middle, just a bit of advice that's VERY helpful. Also, you might want to wake up at like 1:00 am or something (like set a low-volume alarm) and wake up to change the pads just to make sure you don't go through or anything, just to see how heavy it actually is..hopefully this advice helps :)

For starters, it's a good idea to change pads every 2 hours any how.. Better to be hyegenic! As far as night leaking through, have your mom buy you night ones they're super long and won't be too short, OR you can put in one regurlary and add another one to the back and tadaaa!! As for the heaviness of your flows you can ask your doctor what would be good for you to take or if there is any meds he can give you to help them.. He might even suggest birth control & then your mom will have the convo w him and she won't doubt your innonce:) unfotunately when you wear pads I think you will get the feeling of needing to go pee when you don't bc your menstruating.. It'll stop once you move on to tampons.. Good luck!!

Yeah. For me it did. The first 3 days are the heaviest. That's usual. Welcome to the horrible world of periods! Just another reason why men should open doors for us. :)
