I am a graduate assistant coach at a college in Texas, and from my experience in recruiting, these are some important points to remember.
1- Be realistic about how good you are. Not everyone that plays high school basketball gets a scholarship. If you do, congratulations, it is an honor and a privilege that most would do anything for. If you aren't, that's ok, there are plenty of non scholarship schools that are very competitive where you can enjoy being on a college team.
2- Grades. No college wants someone that can't stay in school. Work hard to get a high GPA and do well on the SAT, ACT, etc...
3- Communicate. E-mail or even better, call the schools where you are interested in playing. It shows that you are serious and responsible. It might not be a good fit for you at that particular school, which leads me to..........
4- Never burn bridges. College basketball is all about networks. Everybody knows everybody, and coaches talk amongst one another. If you leave a good impression, then a school that isn't interested in you might pass your name to a school where they think you would be a great fit that you had no idea about before. Always stay positive and humble.
I hope this helps. From my days as a college player, to my current position at the ground level of college coaching, these are really important things to know to have a good experience with recruiting.

Yeah...especially if you got a Myspace. The recruiters are now more into the internet, to where they can e-mail you & stuff. So they'll see you, and yeah, your chances will be higher because more coaches can see you. Good Luck & God Bless.

send a video directly to the colleges your interested in
along with evidence to back up your game such as box scores or newspaper clippings as this day and age video is easy to alter
include a nice letter about yourself as well

i think you should do it but there are downsides to it like they might think you are trying to show off and might not even give you a chance so find out if they are having tryouts and go tryout and if you make it great if you don't there is always next time k ok
