The purpose of that tower is to show terrorists that despite all of their attempts we are a strong nation. It is such a debatable topic though because of all the people that died in 9/11 and that memorial that deserves to be respected.

As far as bombing it goes if it gets bombed again its going to happen no matter what the odds. However much security there it could still be an issue. Although I think its a great attempt to fight terrorism.

Yes it is a very good idea.It is important to all of us when something is ruined by vandals or worse that we rebuild. In this case one of our national symbols was destroyed by fanatical zealots who want the whole world to bow down before them.In the process, they took over 3000 of our citizens away from us.It is imperative that we rebuild because those 3000 lives taken from us need to be remembered, not by a park full of monuments but by a monument to their lives. The freedom tower is our way, actually their way of saying to those SOB's we will not be forgotten!!!And we as a nation should never forget them or the heroes of Flight 93 or the heroes who died in the Pentagon.By building the freedom tower,we say to those who so cowardly attacked us,that we will not be vanquished by cowards like you.We will rebuild and you will rue the day you pulled this cowardly dispicable act out against the great people of the United States. We should also build a tower in that Pennsylvania field and a tower next to the Pentagon. This will send a message to the scoundrels that we will not cower before them and we will hunt them down whatever it takes until they are brought to justice. That is the best way to honor those killed on 9/11.God rest their souls!!!

They're gonna bomb something anyway. Does it matter if it's the "freedom tower" or the Sears Tower in Chicago?

no,its just another target and it will metaphorically say"ha,ha so what?" sometimes defiant pride can backfire. And as good as an Idea as it may be to show respect it will also piss off the people that hate America and probably end disasterous. We as Americans should listen to the rest of the world and humble ourselves a little.I love my country so much and am proud, and would die for America but our government has lost all fear of its citizens.I beleive its the people who run our country thst sometimes need to be punished instead its inocent civilians,Lets see George Bush send his daughters off to Iraq to die,he himself is a draft dodger from what I've heard,we suffer,in the end its our government withthe anti-nuclear bunkers,we die for their arrogence and mistakes. We're in serious trouble with our leaders and should do something to be heard but they're not listening and don't seem to care, while thy're on vacation at camp david our kids are dieing each day in Iraq.when will this end?

Indeed. They might bomb it again. It worked the first time, and the government might not have imagination enough to come up with something else.

It is a good idea. I believe that the terrorists realize that another bombing would have a detrimental effect on Islam.

I think the conflicts about what to do was absolutely comical.
People demanded a structure for their memorial....yet they didn't care about private property rights.
If there are going to be any more attacks...it will be passive and small..like Israel and other countries are experiencing....and they wont attack those so called public structures...they will kill children...as many as they can...because the children are more precious than any bridge.

(I agree with Privratnik) Yes, they might 'bomb it again,' but I hope that that reasoning is not what justifies your opinion on whether or not to build the tower.

I personally think it's a good idea.

I can understand wanting to build something on the site, like a memorial or small office complex. But IMHO building a tall skyscraper is just asking to have it attacked again.

Just my opinion, but the money used for this display could better serve the memory of these people in other, more direct ways.
