i need help!!! I am going to be in a beauty pagent for the first time, and it's only based on looks and attire

I am being in a beauty pagent for the VERY first time, and it is ONLY based upon beauty and the style of your dress! I am really nervous here. I am 13, so for some weird reason the dress straps have to be atleast 3 finger widths across. I'm already having a hard enough time trying to find a good dress that has that, that isn't ugly, and I'm nervous that it is also based just on looks. does anyone out there have any advise on how to look?like barely any makeup, or lots of it, really high heels or no heels at all. I really just don't know what to do

since u r 13..then the natural look will be great..for the makeup...or maybe not the natural look but something simple and not too much..

for the shoes...either flats cuz they look sooooo cute...or kindda high heels...not so high tho..


try to look different...not as in freaky pink hair and a weird assymetrical multicolor dress..different as in not the typical updo and classical dress..and dare to put in some colors..

You don't have a mom to help? Considering your age, I wouldn't try to look more grown up then you are. I'd wear a little makeup to highlight your natural beauty, not to cover it up. Try a store like Kohls or JCPenney or maybe Target for your dress. A Debs might be a good place to find one also if you have one in your area. I would wear a cute mid heel for your age. It is not based just on looks either if you are in one like the ones my daughters have been in. Its also based on pose and stage presence and how you interact with the crowd. Just be yourself and be proud of who you are and how you look, you'll do great.
