Ovulation is different for each woman.
A typical 28 day cycle would mean you'd ovulate around day 14 to 17. Your cervical mucus at that time will not be sticky ... but watery or egg white in consistency which is the very best time for conception.
Although when a woman ovulates can be different between woman, once a woman does ovulate the time it takes to get to menstruation is consistent between woman ... usually 14 days.
The best way to tell if you are about to ovulate is to check your basal body temp every day. This is your temperature right before you get out of bed and do anything ... like go to the bathroom or brush your teeth. It is the lowest temperature of the day. Before ovulation your temps are usually in the 97 range. The day before ovulation, your temp will dip slightly into around the 96.4 range (hence ... this dip is a sure sign you are about to ovulate) and then the day after ovulation your temp usually will rise to around 98 and stay there until about the day before you get your period when it will dip again to around 97. Your period will usually start soon after the dip.
If your temps stay in the high range for over 14 days with no period, then that is a good sign you are pregnant.
Hope this helps and wasn't too wordy!!

Each woman is slightly different but the average is somewhere around 13 days after her last period started.
A woman will discharge a thick, sticky clear substance from her vagina. It aids in lubrication and is the body's natural way to assist in reproduction. Also, a woman's libido is highest at this time of the month. Again, nature's way to make sure we continue to reproduce.
Please remember that every woman is slightly different. This is an average.
Unless you are attempting to conceive it is VERY IMPORTANT that you/your partner use contraceptives every single time you have sex, no matter what time of the month it is.

Midway through your cycle. The best way to tell if you are ovulating is a little gross, but if you are trying to have a baby you'll try anything. here goes......insert a finger into your vagina deeply and touch the opening of your cervix....pull it our and touch it to your thumb.....if the fluid is tacky and forms a string from one finger to the other...you are ovulating. Another simple way to tell is during ovulation, a woman does become more receptive to sex....hornier! Good luck.

A woman ovulates about mid-cycle. You might be able to tell usiing the sympto-thermal method. See the link below. If you are hoping to avoid having a baby, this is not a very reliable method. If you are trying to conceive, it is a good idea.
