I have a cat that is an inside outside cat and when he wants out he meows at us and then when we let him back in he meows for hours like he is telling us about his day. I was just wondering if anyone elses animals talk to them?

I have had a cat that meowed like yours once. I've had dogs make noises that weren't barks as they sat in front of me looking me in the eye. I have a horse talk to me each and every time I come home after being somewhere. She use to object dearly when I would leave, but since she now has another horse friend, she doesn't.

This same horse one day wanted to go out front and because I am following the same guidelines they put out for dogs, I tied her up to the tree and I came inside to do something briefly and suddenly I heard her screaming . I wasn't sure whether a dog attacked her or what! Needless to say, I raced over to the door as quick as I could and fearing the worst! It turned out that one of my neighbours wanted to take a picture of her and got too close to her for my horses comfort and all she was doing was calling for me to protect her. She has had other times she has called for me, but they were nothing compared to the one I just told you about.

Well yeah, i have horses, dogs, cats, and lots of other little creatures. I can understand everything they are trying to tell me. I have 2 dogs and both of them are referred to as "The Boys", and one of "the boys" kenny, will talk to you if you ask "how was your day today? tell me all about it!" and he will begin to whine and bark and wiggle around. the other "boy" toby will jump up and down if he was a good boy that day and didn't chase the neighbors chickens, but will hang his head if he did. I never trained any of my animals to do this, I just talked to them. and my horse if i tell her I had a bad day at school she will wrap her neck around me and give me a 'kiss' right on the lips. and if I hollar "HHEEYYY JAAAAAACCCKKKKK!!!!" out the front door, my donkey will bray back at me, and if i'm late for feeding anyone, the horses will whinney, the donkey will bray, the dogs will scratch and bark at my door and the cats will climb on my window screens! yup, all my animals talk to me. but the funny thing is, is they won't talk to anyone else but me, cause no one spends as much time with them as I do. and animals are so much better listeners than humans are, and they feel our deepest emotions without us having to ask or explain

Some cats just like to "talk" a lot. I had an inside/outside cat once that, whenever I was out with her, would follow me right at my heels and talk the entire time. It didn't matter if it was 5 minutes or 3 hours, she was always there. I'm not sure why she behaved this way or if she was really talking but I think she learned it from my mother-in-law. ;-)

Yep.

We have a love bird named Archie that whistles and chirps back and forth with us. Katie, our cat, likes to meow to us, especially when you get her attention by saying her name. And then there's our guinea pig, Mr. Snuffles, who talks to Archie, the love bird,
across the house.

Animals do talk (communicate vocally) we just don't always know what they're saying.

My dog usually barks when she's excited about a toy or a treat, like she's saying "Give it to me!". Other than that, she talks to me all the time, I just can't understand her.

Funny you ask...my parents had to dog sit for my brothers friends dog this weekend and I stopped by and it was like this dog was talking to my parents, they would say do you have to go outside and the dog would start like howling but it was like she was talking to us and telling us yeah I have to go outside please let me out please because her pitch of the howl would change and she'd do that and close her mouth and start again. It was like she was talking!

Parakeets and parrots DO talk to their owners, and some of them know what they're saying.
