What causes Pedophillia?

Question

I have often wondered about this. I refuse to believe that some one would CHOOSE to be something so repulsive, so what? Other than the obvious abuse as a child, what makes a normal human being a degenerate? Are they born that way?

ok, I did NOT mean to imply that all pedos are gay. This was just the first section I saw dealing with sexuallity. My best friend is gay(A usual response, I know, but true) so I KNOW they are not.

This is the wrong section for this question. Ninety percent of Pedophiles are straight. Many are women. If you really want to know, study "abnormal psychology," not come here.

Paraphilias and Sexual Disorders

Etiology

A large percentage of individuals with this disorder were sexually abused as children, although the vast majority of adults who were abused do not develop pedophilia or pedophilic behaviors. There is also those who argue pedophilia results from feelings of inadequacy with same age peers, and therefore a transfer of sexual urges to children.

Symptoms

This disorder is characterized by either intense sexually arousing fantasies, urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child (typically age 13 or younger). To be considered for this diagnosis, the individual must be at least 16 years old and at least 5 years older than the child.

Treatment

Treatment typically involves intensive psychotherapy to work on deep rooted issues concerning sexuality, feelings of self, and often childhood abuse. Medical treatments such as ‘chemical castration’ (which is actually a hormone medication which reduces testosterone and therefore sexual urges) have been investigated with very mixed results.

Prognosis

Prognosis varies, although it is typically good if the individual has insight into his behaviors and his own childhood issues. Combined with an antisocial personality (which is usually what is seen on the news or in movies), however, treatment prognosis declines, sometimes significantly.

Pedophilia is caused from straight men and women that are homophobic towards gays. The angish that these heterosexual cause the homosexual causes and inverted cebebral push in the Laters' Section of the brain which causes a de-evolved state back to childhood attraction. This causes the "adult" sexual feelings toward children. This is why 99% of pedophiles are straight men and women. The other 1% is bi. I read this is a medical journal about eight months ago.

I know of a one-case deal. They pick on kids because they are so manipulative and easy to control. This is not exactly pedophilia, but...

a 55 year old guy goes after 16-year-old girls because they are such easy targets. In this case he's just a dirty old man. If the law permits, he'd probably go after even younger catches.

Often pedophilia is a matter of the pedophile being mentally frozen at that particular age. They don't see it as wrong because emotionally and mentally, they're still kids. The only problem is, their sexual desires are not those of kids and that's when the sickness starts. Also, they were often abused themselves as kids.

I agree with Soul Nurse. Come on its so obvious that the devil has entered their bodies, so if they become Christians and have faith they will forget all these tendencies. LOL. Once again she came with her conclusion, the only problem is that it is 2000 years old. hahahhahahaha
BTW, eventhough you admitted that you did not imply that it has to do anything with homosexuality, this is the wrong section to post this kind of question.

First off, this really is the wrong category for this question. You would be better served to try asking it in the "Psychology" category since Paedophilia is a mental disorder.

No one chooses mental disorder either, but since we already know that homosexuality is NOT a mental disorder we can rule gays/lesbians out of your equation.

PAEDOPHILIA IS NOT A SEXUALITY in the same sence that Heterosexuality, Bisexuality, Homosexuality are. PAEDOPHILIA is a sexual disorder that is harmful to both the person suffering from it and his/her victims.
Heterosexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality are all regarding ADULT sexuality...IE what gender(s) one adult is attracted to in other ADULTS.

Because children cannot form legal consent, they are victims of these predators.

It begins with sexual molestation, sexual experimentation, drugs, exposure to it at a young age (or older), exposure to pornography either of children or they advanced to child porn from other types. The same thing that makes other people completely dull to the pain of destroying their own bodies or unable to be intimate or see the ones they supposedly love as real people instead of imaginary people they can control. If you read about some of the worse criminals in history, you will find the majority of them were either abused sexually or physically, abandoned, taught to indulge in illicit sexual behaviors at a young age, used for prostitution by a parent or someone else, and nearly always pornography (since it's inception) is involved. Sin starts small but always progresses downward.

I dont think theres a school that would teach pedophilia or beastiality . I think all sexual preferances are mostly born with a heavy influence of social input.

Some say it's in the genes. Some say it's environmental. I tend to lean toward the idea that it's environmental. Learned behavior. But the, that's my opinion.
