This is how I cleaned my ex-husbands apartment, and believe me, it was the filthiest, messiest place on the planet!!! - You need to get a lot of boxes or bins. You will label these as you go and set them in the room, or nearby where you can toss things into them. You will start at one end, or corner of the room and pick up the first item. Put it in the first bin,or box and label it so that like items can go with it as you sort, such as tools, or dirty clothes, clean clothes, dishes to go to the kitchen, etc. The next item you pick up will probably be an item for the next bin, you will label that bin so that it will contain like items as you sort. Just keep doing this. As you go, you may need more bins or boxes. When you fill up one box or bin with one particular type of item - label it as box 1 for that type of item and put it aside. That way, you can keep same boxes or bins together as you go. Now, you will need to continue this until every last item is picked up. When that it done, clean the room by washing surfaces or dusting, vacuuming, make the bed, or whatever needs done, then go around the room and set up bins or storage containers for items that will return to your room. Now, go thru all the bins and boxes that you sorted into. Find a place for all the groups of items, then put them away. You may find this challenging, but you will need to find a home for each and every group of items you will be keeping. If items can be stored, put it in a storage shed or garage if possible. Find other places for the items that don't belong in your room. Also, one good thing to keep in mind - if it hasnt been used in the last 6 months - 1 year, get rid of it! Well, good luck!!! (oh yeah, after you have put everything in its place, you will probably need to vacuum again!) have fun!!! (sorry, that wasnt funny)

First, you have to organize your mind, relax, go out for a few minutes and then back home, make your self arrangement of your free time. Then start cleaning your room, but don't work too much. Get rest few minutes and then... get on work. But next time you should clean your mess more often. I hope it will help you not to be unorganized person anymore.

Gather as much as you can and give away to a charity organization. Chances are your style will change after college anyway.
Toss out any papers and junk.
If you don't have the time to sort, then just pack what you need to take with you. Neatly put like things, folded and put in a drawer or box.

- throw away or donate what you don't need (things you haven't used in a year, things that are broken, things you are too old for, things that you will NEVER have any use for)
- buy hooks or shelving to help keep things off the floor (keys, cell phone, book bag, purse)
- buy rubbermaid containers or plastic drawers to organize smaller items (jewelery, socks, cd's, school supplies)
- buy an over the door shoe rack or if you have space, a vertical shoe rack for your closet (at minimum, put all the shoes you won't wear this winter on the rack)
- if there is room under your bed or on the top shelf of your closet, buy those big Ziplock bags or vacuum seal bags for clothes that you won't be wearing this winter

Set a timer for 15 minutes, then go absolutely nuts...as fast as you can, cleaning, sorting, throwing things away. If after 15 minutes, you want to continue...great, if not, give yourself a pat on the back for what you DID do.

Try storage units that would house your junk. Look at Target, they often have fun and young things for college that are designed to help you get organized. Good Luck is really all I can say!

Find a place for EVERYTHING. If you've got stuff all over, put it in seperate boxes and go through it box by box. Try buying organizational shelves at wal-mart or target. Hope this helps a little bit.
