I think that descendants liking soccer has decreased because there are many other sports that one can play. My family and I are descendants of Latin Americans and take my cousins for example, they are more into Football than soccer. But my sister and I are soccer fans.

In my opnion, that only applies if football soccer was/is popular with the members of the foreign-born generation. I mean, although many Latin Americans like football soccer, that doesn't mean that all of them like it. So if people not-to-fond of soccer have descendants in the USA, I bet that their children will not like football soccer, either.

some people have a more recent history of football (soccer). It is the biggest sport in just about every country except for the US. American soccer kinda sucks, but world soccer is kick @ss

ya i think so. the states is mainly about baseball, NFL, and nascar (not really a sport - driving in ovals with left hand turns only). i feel the latin americans would be more inclined to play/watch soccer than any of the above (cept maybe baseball)
