If friend #1 is overprotective/selfish and does not want you to be friends with friend#2, you need to analyze the situation, and think about WHY friend #1, does not trust friend#2.If you think that there is a valid reason why friend #1 does'nt like your relationship with friend #2, you need to talk to the both of them about it, and settle this matter once and for all.If it really is something bad, then friend #1 had a right to do this to HELP you.
On the other hand, if you find no reason for friend#1 to act this way about friend#2,then the best plan is to get rid of friend#1, because friend#1 is not really your friend if they put their needs(they, having you as a friend)over other people's needs(you,friend#1,and friend#2 being friends with EACH OTHER),without just cause or talking about it first. That really is no way to treat a really good friend.

If this is the case, then the girl who is threatning you like that is not really being a true friend. let her know that your other friend makes u happy, and ask her if she wants u to be happy. if she still doesn't want u2 b friends with the other girl, then that obviously says it all.
She also might be really insecure and afraid that this other girl/boy is going to take u away from her and she'll be all alone. i've been thru that one before with a friend. Confront her about it, she might come thru with u and accept the fact that it's not going to all go her way.
I wish u lots of luck!! Hope u start the new year fresh!!

When that kind of stuff happens, sit them both down at separate times and have them understand you want to be friends with both. But, if one of them is giving you an ultimatum and making you pick by force, then send that person to hell. Good friends will never make you choose between themselves and something or someone else.

i have had this problem before.
my 2 best freinds hated eachother
i think that the person who says that they wont be freins with you isnt really your freind beacuse if she really, really wanted to be ur freind, she would accept u AND your freinds
and if a person says it either my way or the highway, take the highway
and DONT try to make them freinds and take them to a place together, beacause that wont work, beleive me, ive tryed it
good luck i know its really hard
ps sorry 'bout the misspellings

I have the same problem with EVERY one of my friends. I dont get it -didnt we learn to get along with our peers and their friends?I remember learning this in kindergarten before naptime break. We should fire them or make them take morning kindergarten over again (with or w/out their banky)

When I read the first part of your question I thought, well! just do things seperately. But when I read the second part I thought, well! dump the one that won't share you. She is not a true friend.

Real friends don't tell you who you should be friends with.
You have every right to be friends with both of them and if one of them has a problem with that, then it's their problem, not yours.
