My favourite is Goblet of Fire too. It has the right mix of character development and action (something that wasn't properly depicted in the film). It was also the turning point in the series where things started to take a darker tone as we see Harry's childhood draw to a close when he realises that good, innocent people can be killed.
I also love 'Prisoner of Azkaban' though because of the focus on the far more interesting adult characters and the fact that we finally find out some of the backstory that helped shape Harry's life to how it is now. I'm someone who thinks the HP books are so interesting because of the adult characters.

I liked them all but really enjoyed The Goblet of Fire. I think I really got into the action of it. The preparing for the tasks and there seemed to be more of a back story in that one. It helped to know more about what was going on in the world instead of just what was happening in the walls of Hogwarts. The Order of the Phoenix was good as well because it gave us a deeper look at not only Voldemort but also The Weasley's. It helps to know the story behind the other wizard families and how they all play a part in the stories.

Goblet of Fire. This is the book that "changes" the series to more serious involved plots. A lot happens in this book, more serious things. Harry finally meets Voldemort face to face and witnesses Cedric being killed. The goblet of fire is my favourite movie (so far)

The best in my opinion is the fourth "The Goblet of Fire". This is where the series got serious, really good plot and alot of action. The Triwizard tournament was a great event to take place. And the return of Voldemort to top it all off.

Goblet of Fire and The Half-Blood Prince are my two favorites closely followed by The Sorceror's Stone.

My favorite one was the fifth. No one agrees with me but, you do so I'll tell you why the other ones weren't as good.
The first one was well, number one, Harry doens't know anything, and if you go back and read it it's like not a exciting ecause you already know what will happend
#2- I really like this one, but like I said it's a little young
#3- doesn't really affect the plot of the whole series, Serius is discovered whoo hoo
#4 My 2nd fav. The ending gets the series really going, and the book was great all 1000 pages, but most of the book is almost there...
#6- really funny, lot's of jokes, but kinda didn't really follow where the series was going and I didn't really think it was used to it's full potential as the 6th book.
but the fifth had everything, and it was written so you feel like you can understand the main character, and a lot happened, so you feel like you are getting somewhrer

My favorite is the Goblet of Fire. There was a lot of action during the tournament (I like things with tournaments in them.) Moody was a bad a**, it had the Ball, and we saw Snape's dark mark. It's were the series got down to business. I could go on forever...

Wait a minute, I like the one best when Snape's childhood at Hogwart's is revealed and we find that Harry's father was a bit of a bully--disillusioning Harry. I felt sorry for Snape. Was this the same one that Dumbledore died in? Or did he???? I can't wait to see how that turns out. Which book tells how Voldermort keeps coming back--it explains how he puts a little bit of his soul into inanimate objects..is it "Order" or :Half Blood"? I read them both so long ago and out of sequence that I'm confused.

Prisoner of Azkaban has always been a favorite of mine, and I think possibly the best! But the more times I read Half-Blood Prince, the more I'm starting to believe it may be the best! Then again that could be just because I'm a huge fan of Severus...

Definitely Order of the Phoenix. The political oppression in it intrigued me most. But it was also bloody hilarious.
