so, at the begining of winter break, a guy told me he knew who i liked, so i said who, and he said im not telling so i told him i liked his bff, who i had a crush on at the time. i was recless beacause it was the last day bfore winter break, and i figured what te hell i will chance it , it will all blow away before school starts again. Now, its the night before school starts and i am panicing.
i decided over winter break that this guy i liked was not as nice and sincere as his bff and i thought about it and was like"oh sh!t"
so to get to the point, how do i tell this guys best freind that i like him, not his bff

Tell him. I know you're in a mess, but tell him. He'll be glad to hear it. It's possible that he told his friend, and maybe his friend likes you, but again, 1% chance. Very unlikely.
On top of that, I have the feeling that this guy likes you. Usually when a guy teases a girl like that saying "I know who you like" and such, it's usually because he likes her. On some level I suspect he hopes you're going to say he's wrong and that you like him. Just a hunch.

Well I hate to break it to you but the guy was dropping hints to you about liking you and you broke his heart by saying that you liked his best friend. When his true colors came out you changed your mind and you can't have it both ways because the new guy will feel like a rebound. So you made a decision and now you have to live with it. I'm sorry but you cannot come between best friends because like it or not you will be chosen last.

Just tell him the truth. Explain to him exactly what you said here- no wait just say you realized he's "nicer" that's all, because nice is kind of vague. That way you're not harshly putting his best friend down.

Just tell him. He just wants you to like him and sure as hell wouldnt give a damn about anything else.
Unless now he doesnt like you anymore, that is. You dont get to lose anything anyway by revealing your feelings for him now.
