My doctor just put me on this type of birth control and I was wondering if anyone else on it had any side effects or anything that I should look out for.
The first brand of birth control I was on was Ovcon35 and it seemed great at first, but six months down the road I had a
grand-mal seizure. My doctors cant find out why and just decided to take me off that brand just incase it had something to do with it.
So I was wondering if Loestrin24Fe is as effective as the Ovcon35 and what the differences in the two actually are.

I've never used the Ovcon, but I'm on Loestrin and am fine with it. I have bigger mood swings than without, but I cramp a lot less, my periods are lighter, and they are just as effective as other BCs. Really you should talk to your doctor about any concerns. Have you thought about staying off the pill and just using condoms? It is a hassle, but it would be better than risking your health.
