I'm eight weeks pregnant and I notice that I have been discharging more than ever. I don't think it is a yeast infection cause I had that before (it's not cottage cheese like). My discharge is mostly white creamy (like lotion), does not smell at all. Is that normal during pregnancy? Did anyone ever have this problem?

DON'T WORRY! This is completely normal! It is called leukorrhea. If it starts to smell or changes in color discuss it with your doctor. Each month you may notice it more and more. You may notice that your nose is running more too. That may not be until your second trimester. This is because your mucous membranes in your body are softening to get ready for the baby. Your cervix is getting softer which is the reason for the increase in discharge! This is my first pregnancy too! I am 20 weeks! A note of advice, put your favorite underwear to the side for a while and buy comfy cotton ones! Don't wear tight or satin or silk underwear...that will cause an infection! Wear cotton! Congrats and Good Luck!

Yes it is normal. Most pregnant women need to wear panty liners because of the extra discharge. Make sure you watch out for signs of yeast infection though--they are also very common during pregnancy.

Yes I'm going through the same thing... It's a little uncomfortable but the book, "What to Expect While Expecting" says it is perfectly normal. Not to mention my doctor warned me of it at my second visit. I'm 25 weeks now, and it only gets heavier. I'd suggest getting some panty liners.

Yes that is normal. I had the same thing and asked my doctor. He said it's normal as long as it's not tinted with blood, or as long as it's not clear and thin like water, that could signal a leak in the amniotic sac. but what you're describing sounds completely normal.

It is totally normal, dont worry! I am 24 weeks with my 4th pregnancy and was concerned with that at one time to. But it is normal, annoying but normal! Congrats on the pregnancy! :)

Some discharge is normal, yes. If it turns pinkish or looks like it has blood in it, though, you need to talk to your doctor.

Oh yes!!!!
Stock up on the pantyliners and don't worry. It's one of the joys of pregnancy no-one tells you about, they let you figure it out by yourself, along with opening bowels on the delivery bed-not very nice!
