Why are Canadians so hatful towards Americans. I drove through your country last summer and you people treated me like ship just becuase I was an American-and don't tell me its becuase of Bush becuase I know others with the same experiences going back 12 years. Honest answers only please.

See this is just what I'm talking about with exception of 2 of you. Your almost all a bunch of political haks, and thats why you hate us. I don't go around acting arrogant and I am one of the most amicable people you will ever meet. As for not being informe about you, most Americans don't know much about their own history and culture, I read over 100 books, e-books, and audio books in 2006 and that's more than I can say about most of the canadians I have met. I didn't have a problem with the smart one anyway. As for know about canada show me 1 out of 10 people from Ontario that have an understanding of Nova Scosian history so save it. As for the propaganda that prevade your T. V. stations its unbearable and Can public Radio garbage. I don't agree with the Canadians on a lot but I don't walk around treating individual that I don't know like ****. As for our foreighn policy its easy to play arm chair general when we make sure your defence is taken care of at our expence.

As a matter of fact by older sister is engaged to an American. I am sorry to hear that happened to you and I take it upon myself to apologise on behalf of all Canadians... I don't have to, but I will.
Last Summer, I was in the states and I found most Americans to be obnoxious and rude! but I also met some nice ones too.
PS: I know tonnes of Canadians who do not hate Americans.... and odly enough I like your president. ( not joking)

when I went to some places in the US I was treated like s*** as well. I'm a Canadian living in Canada for over a decade, some places in the US people said, I was a terrorist or a poor immigrant. Some guy even called me an Indian crook, when I'm not even Indian. Some Canadians may not like the US and others might like the US. But everyone is different so it's unfair to judge a country as one group.

What part of the country were you in? I feel that Americans have a bit of ego problem at times but no different than any other nationality (including Canadians).

I don't want to be mean but we find you Americans arrogant , and you rub us the wrong way , you people don't bother learning much about us , or about the rest of the world for that mater , you Americans give an air of superiority and it shows , so what do you expect ? if the Americans would get of their high horse and humble down some what, in a strange country ,then perhaps we would be friendlier towards you all .

your arrogance mostly. Why pretend to be wholesome neighbours when you guys treat us like crap, then have the audacity to claim foul when you get a cool reception when you come for a visit. Americans need to take a humble pill. We canadians are polite....to a point.
