I put the whole bottle right after i got an oil change on my mustang 2003. I wonder if that was a good thing, because the acceleration feels a bit loose. Whats your take on these cleaners they sell at a gas station? can they ruin the engine? is it necessary to use them? thanks!

They are cheap and you get what you pay for. If you want a good injector cleaner you are looking at about $20. You can pick on up at Wal-mart, auto zone or any car parts store.

Cheap cleaner is nothing more than methyl alcohol. Buy a quality product and you will have better all around results. I know its not a "cleaner" as such but I've used Marvel Mystery oil in my gas and oil for years on fuel injected cars with no injector problems EVER. I run my cars to around 200,000 miles before trading them off. Good stuff. Wal Mart has it too.

Fuel injector and carb cleaners are necessary to clean fuel injectors and carbs. But they can be expensive depending on the brand. BG charges an arm and a leg for the fuel injector system cleaner and it has three cans!
