I dont understand any of it!

I'm not understanding DNA replication at all! Please explain to me what happens, how it happens, where, and why it happends!

DNA replication means starting with one DNA molecule and ending up with two DNA molecules. The two will be identical.

Steps:
1. DNA "unzips" down the middle. Enzymes split apart the base pairs that make the steps of the DNA ladder.
2. Extra nucleotides that are in the nucleus get matched with the nitrogen bases that were left sticking out in step 1. Enzymes fasten these extra nucleotides in place. A goes with T, C goes with G. I tell my students to match the straight letters A/T and the round letters C/G.
3. As the empty spots are filling in, other enzymes bond the phosphates and sugars of the nucleotides together to hook up the new side of the ladder.

That's it. Two identical DNA molecules, each having one strand of the original DNA and one strand newly built on.

DNA replication or DNA synthesis is the process of copying a double-stranded DNA molecule. This process is paramount to all life as we know it. The DNA replication involves copying the genetic material and passing it on to daughter cells, therefore the process is important in continuation of life.
DNA molecule is a long polymer consisting of two strands, each composed of repeating units called nucleotides. These two strands entwine like vines and makes a form called double helix. Just see it as a cell making a backup to be inserted later in the new cell that is going to be created from the original cell.
