As the above person stated: if you want a good airsoft gun then you are looking at the big 6: Tokyo Mauri, Classic Army, ICS, G&G, G&P, and to a lesser degree Star.
G&P is becoming known for their m4 style rifle, which have very well upgraded internals and shoot almost 350 stock.
Star have more plastic then other other brands, but make the best M249 for the money.
G&G rifles have a metal body and are similar internally to classic army
Classic Army guns have metal bodies, and the internals have a slightly stronger spring then a Tokyo Mauri, plus metal bushings. One of my team mates as the CA M15 (an m4 rifle) and has thrown in around, and generally abused it and it still works flawlessly.
ICS guns seem to be hit or miss with the two part mechbox design, I've seen to go both ways; however the traditional gearboxes are great. I've used the AK 74 and admit they are awesome rifles.
Tokyo Mauri (TM): I own two TM rifles, a MC-51 and a G3-SG1. The SG1 has alot of reach with only 285 FPS, and the MC-51 (similar to a MP-5) shoots surprisingly well for a SMG. TM guns have more plastic on the body, but it is still very durable and more of the cost is in the internals (the important parts) with the highest quality control of any brand.
Almost any gun made by these manufactures will last you for years and years. One of the older guys I airsoft with has a TM ak-47 that is about 8 years old, and that is with regular use. When you look into airsoft as a hobby you need to see the guns as investments, because of the lifespan they will last you for years, and still retain most of their value if you choose to sell them.
But remember to be safe and responsible with your airsoft gun, only play in sanctioned skirmishes, and don't flaunt you're replica around.

ok by reliable name and gun you mean a reputable gun that'll last a long time and preform well i assume?
you're looking at one of the big 3, Tokyo marui: a japanese based company that makes some of the best airsoft guns there are.
the most comon TM rifles are the g36, the AK-47, the steyer AUG and the 'high capa pistol'. the first three are the best probably
the second company is Classic Army or CA, i don't know quite as much about them but they are pretty well known for their m16 style rifles which are made out of mostly metal and are of a quality easily rivaling Tokyo Marui. i HIGHLY suggest these two if you have money to blow
the third company (which many serious airsofters do not like) is UTG. UTG is by far my favorite company, they sell guns of very high quality, quite similar to that of tokyo marui for far far leess. for instance, the UTG ak-47 is absolutely identicle to the TM ak and cost only 1-110 dollars versus the tokyo marui rifle costing several hundred on average
if you want an assault rifle i HIGHLY recomend the UTG warhawk AK47 which can be found pretty readily on ebay fairly cheap or on Airsplat.com
for a pistol i recomend the marui high capa, they're pricy but by excelent pistols
and as far as snipers i personally use a UTG M324 now known as the master shot 700 which i got from hobbytron.com but you can get at any airsoft site.

i used to play airsoft and i have a few ideas for you...
i myself own a 50. ae semi auto pistol...it takes 4 AAA batteries and fires at a good rate, the downside is the lack of power...the shots wont hurt much but is good for innocent play
my friend used 2 pull-back smith & wesson pistols which need a pull back between shots but the fps is much higher
finally...if you check on ebay, you can find a sniper rifle oxygen or nitrous powered....i dont reccomend this if you are playing with your friends or anything because this can and will cause serious damage...i think the sniper rifle was built for actual gun practice...it can shoot with accuracy over 100 yards...
i hope i helped
good luck
oh by the way always wear eyegear when you play...i shot my friend in his eye(accidently) with his own smith & wesson and it popped a blood vessel in his eye, so watch out
