We cracked out the new nonstick frying pan to use on the new stove. But it sat funny and now there's a black burn in the middle of the pan! Does anyone have any ideas/tips on how to remove, or at least get rid of most of, the burn, without ruining the pan? THANKS!!!

two parts vinegar, one part baking soda, slowly let it warm on the stove for an hour or so . . . it should slide right off.

A few suggestions: Try placing a dryer sheet in the bottom of a pan with burnt food, fill with hot water and wait 30 minutes. Then, just wipe away the food OR you make it non-stick by boiling white vinegar in your metal pan for 15 seconds, this will turn it into a non-stick pan OR you can heat up some tomato sauce or another acidic food in the pot. The acids act as natural stain removers on aluminum.

Hope this helps!

get some sea salt and put a little in the pan with a very little amount of water and boil it for 1 min. then leave over-night (be sure to make sure that the stove isn't on before you go to bed)
the next day it should scrub off easily

I had that happen to me too. I soaked it in hot water and a lot of liquid dishwasher detergent (the stuff for automatic dishwashers, not hand dish-washing liquid) and it loosened off in about an hour. Good luck!
P.S. Next time you have to prep a new non-stick pan with a thin coat of vegetable oil before you use it, there should have been directions.

never experienced this before. How does it burn? If you mean food burnt or stuck in it, put some water into the pan and bring to boil just for a couple of minutes, then VERY gently "scrape" it off. hope this helps
