wouldn't they get arrested and convicted of driving under the influence of a controlled substance which most likely results in at least a month in jail. So why does it seem like Nicole Ritchie will get off with a 200 fine or something to that extent.

Where'd you get the idea people go to jail for driving under the influence? The 1 time I went to traffic court (3 speeding tickets in one year, they wouldn't let me just pay it) they arraigned someone for DUI and driving without a license. He didn't have a license because it was revoked for DWI and driving on a suspended license. Any guess why his license was suspended?

because 1 her adoptive father is rich, so 2 he can higher the best legal team and they can find so many loop holes untill the judge will throw it out. just to get rid of the headache. also they pulled her over for drinking and driving and not for drug use. just because she tested positive. they cant prove when she did it.
where as with the average joe. we dont have the money or resources to get off of charges like that.

its too difficult to prove. there isn't a "breath analyzer" to check for use unless you just too stoned and admit it. Plus driving high, on marijuana usually results in some pretty good driving.
