When you question whether you are too old.
Old is really just a state of mind, if you want something done you go for it, you don't worry about what others think.
You are always going to get a bunch of answers saying 'this is too old' or 'that is too old'. To be honest, it's pretty annoying that anyone thinks they have the right to tell another how to live their lives. People should do as they please, otherwise it's not really worth living is it?
I had a naval piercing done in my teens, but I'm not going to take it out because I hit 30 or 40. That is stupid and just giving into what society deems acceptable or not. I'm even trying to convince my 50 year old mum to get a naval piercing, because I know it would look absolutely fantastic on her.
Just live life how you want, don't look to others for acceptance or you will never be happy.
Take care : )

35 is the cut off. which means if you HAD a naval piercing, you should take it off by 35. and definitely don't pierce after 35.

Once you hit your 30's it's a no-go. It's tacky once you're over 30 and if you are overweight.

a belly button piercing should be for yourself, not others, so it really doesn't matter. Trust your gut feeling!
