the parking lot provided is the only place for me to park. They have security but only patrols once per hour. Cameras face sidewalk not parking lot.

No, the vandal was at fault, your employer kindly provides a place for you to park, but doesn't guarantee your car will be safe. It's for this type of thing we all carry car insurance.

Well I would truely have to say thats a hard question to answer.
The reason why is the action did in fact take place on company property and in all reality you could probly get them to fix your vehicle. But with that being said, your insurance should fix and repair your vehicle as long as you file a police report. And that truely depends on what your state laws are for insurance policies. Here in Ma as long as we file a police report we are covered for most things.
Now if you wanted to take it to the next level and try and make your job pay for your vehicle well this is how its going to work out for you.
First you will ask your company to pay for the damages and if they say yes which I highly doubt you would be alset.
second if they say no which is the more likely answer you will need to go get a lawyer, and that is going to cost you a lot of money. If you dont get a lawyer your chances of winning are slim to none.
Third now that you have taken the company you work for to court I can gaurantee there will be much heat and who wants to work for a company where no one likes you<<< ? or where your boss now is going to find reasons to fire you leaving you without a good referance.

I hope this helped you out some, but in all honesty try the insurance deal before you go chasing your place of work. :)

your insurance should pay, but the employer needs to know about the situation and try to help resolve it.
