How does eyetoy cam work with DDR for PS2?

I have a new eyetoy cam for PS2 and I am trying to use it with DDR. THe camera works with the demo disc that it came with but when I put in DDR, nothing happens. Is there some trick I need to know? or step that I am missing?

On the main menue there should be a choice to go to a screen that has non dance games, one of those games should go w/ your eyetoy.

it only works with DDR Extreme and DDR Extreme 2
