I found this posted on a comment board about autism and a cure.
How do you feel about the comment, yes it would be murder or no it wouldn't.

If you "cure" someone of that which is the core of their being, is that a cure or murder?

Neither. It's changing someones personality, lifestyle, mannerisms, the whole bit. It's changing their lives. I wouldn't wanna be changed into a whole other person than my core being.
Would you?

When the word "cure" is used, it implies that there is a sickness or disease. If cure is associated with "the core of their being", then, yes, it would be murder. Although murder also means death to a living thing, which is not neccessarily true either if someone is to be "cured".
