The job mandated everyone set 3 month goals and objectives. I completed the request, but did not meet the goal because of injury on the job requiring sugery and recovery time. Within 5 days after returning to work I was terminated for not meeting my goals.

A lot of employment attorneys will give you a free consultation. I would do it - this sounds very age discriminatory to me.

If you got injured on the job, did you take advantage of workers compensation benifits? If you did and your employers didn't like that they may have used the goal thing as an excuse to terminate. You know realistically , if they knew you were off injured and having surgery, they should have made allowances for you incompletion. It sounds hinky to me, i'd have the labour board look into it. Good luck, and get a good lawyer.

Please sit down, take a deeeeeep breath. You didn't say whether or not you were eligible for retirement?? If so, then try and draw your retirement. If not, see if they are rehiring. You might loose all your seniority, but you'll have an income, mostly for me I prayed!
