I know i definitely shouldn't shave because it'll grow back like a man's mustache. Recently, i've been plucking, but that hurts a lot! and a while ago, i tried bleaching it, but it kinda made it brighter and more obvious (depending on the lighting). Is waxing a good option? Are electrolysis and laser hair removal really that effective?
I have brown hair and fairly light skin...it's not THAT obvious, but still annoying!

Try Nair upper lip cream. then, save up for laser hair removal. The Nair really works though.

Hey I had the same problem, a while back. But this is what to do! Waxing is pretty good. On the other hand not too, once it wasn't for me. I went to a place and a guy waxed my upper lib (I have brown hair too) he kept waxing. He put wax on my lib about 5 times and tore it off, when i got out my hand were so wet! Then I talked to this lady (very nice) for my next waxing time. She said thats illegal. Make sure the person you get to wax you is recomded, and has an licence. Just ask, if the don't just leave. Or you can buy a waxing kit. Do it your self waxing. Waxing isn't to bad, doesn't hurt too much eather, unlike puking. I think once or twice a month waxing is good! best luck darling.

Electrolysis is expensive and you'll have to go quite a few times before it is effective and doesn't grow back. It also leaves your skin looking horribly. Not worth it. Waxing is good if you can take the pain and the patience. Go to a beauty salon and they do for you. Easy and quick. And only around $5-$8. I shaved mine and didn't grow back like a man's mustache. Just depends on how much you want to spend. Use a little makeup if you don't want to spend that much money.

Electrolysis hurts especially on the upper lips where it's sensitive, laser removal is costly but I guess it's a small area to consider--I would look into that. Try waxing for now. Make sure the wax is not too hot. Heat it up,follow instructions. Apply a thin layer of wax to the direction of your hair growth (this would be from one side of your nostril down to the corner of your lip) Take a strip and apply to the same area. Pressing the skin down near the end of the strip, lift the strip up against the growth of the hair with one quick motion -like you're removing a band-aid from your skin (this would be from one corner of your your lip up to the nostril). Repeat on the other side. Apply a soothing lotion.
You might want to look into "threading". I'm not familiar with it but I have friends that are happy with it. Good luck!

Just go to Walmart, or a place like that, and buy some wax strips. I get a brand called "Sally Hansen". I use it for my brows, but it would work great for the upper lip too. I can imagine plucking that would be tremendously painful, but waxing really only hurts a little at first, and then the pain is very minimal. I suggest you just wax it! Plus, waxing causes the hairs to grow back less and less! (or you could go to a professional and get it done for a lot more money, whatever your preference.)

wax it
its a lot cheaper
but it can be very painful
and cause skin irritation
because the skin above your
lip is thin and has no bone
like eye brows and other places you may wax
so your skin can easily
get ripped off during the process
well just the top layer
so if you plan to do it
use a good
moisturizer
so its doesn't look so
bad and dry.

PS shaving wont make it
grow back like a mans
unless you have some whacked genes
girls are made differnt then guys
thats why its not noticable in the first place

hope i helped

Laser is the best option and it really does work. However it you don't want to go through with that you could try creams by Sally Hansen or waxing. Waxing makes the hair come back less and less thick each time you do it (thins it out and makes it less apparent). But whatever you do, do not shave (makes hair come back thicker). Good Luck!

The only one that is permanent is laser hair removal. Each treatment (in New England anyway) by a dermatologist is $250. The first one kills all the hair in the area that is actively growing. Then you go a month later and get the next set of active hair. One more month later they have destroyed it all. Since the hair root is destroyed it will never regrow and you are done for the rest of your life. It is fast and safe when done by a professional.

I have fine blonde hair with just a few dark over mine and its too fine for wax to work. I tried electrolysis but they just started coming back thicker and darker. I just use nair for the face.Tried six treatments with lazer at $300 a pop and it did not work( for me anyway)

I would recommend you to wax it. It doesn't hurt, and you are hair free for 3-4 weeks. Good Luck!!!
