I'm not meaning to be disrespectful, but I cannot make a connection between honoring (or mourning) an ex-president and closing down the stock markets. Its not like any of the people who would have been trading needed time off to go the funeral. Nor are ordinary people rivited to the TV to watch the funeral like they were for the death of JFK.
Is this always done?

Because it's the right thing to do....by the time you ARE old enough to understand it won't matter anymore....and it's sad. People forget the ups and downs this great country goes through ....imagine this...in the future, when someone like you ask: WHY DO WE NEED TO HAVE A NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING FOR 911 DISASTER ?? then you'll understand where I am coming from.

It's called paying respect, honey. If, for no other reason, American presidents are owed respect due to their past positions. Ford was an American president and is therefore owed the respect for holding that office. And, yes, public functions are often shut down outof respect for a deceased president.

In international industry crude oil fees have long gone down. There are restrict on fees at better half and young ones point.. fees are desperate via government. there's a cost administration. for sure, costs are extra so no longer rewarding. call for and grant of shares, profitability of the enterprise, promotors' integrity, government rules, operators, international tendencies etc. are the climate in identifying share fees.

Because George Bush gives the orders around here, if he says we should mourn instead of trade then we had better because he knows best.

if the stock traders themselves feel they want to honor the man in this way, then who are we to argue, there still will be plenty of opportunity to make or lose money on wall street, the rest of the year.
