Yes, both do. Large raptors can easily kill and eat small dog/wolf/coyote puppies and small adults of toy dog breeds. Large eagles like the Golden eagle have been known to prey upon the young of sheep, deer, cattle and llamas which are even larger than most young canines. Bears like the Grizzly, Polar and Brown bears will certainly prey upon young canines as well as adults if they can, however since most canines live in packs bears often cannot prey upon them successfully. A study done in Victoria BC on rainforest wolves actually discovered that wolf packs there predate quite commonly on large grizzly bears, and also showed that when possible the grizzlies also prey on young or lone wolves. http://www.raincoastfoundation.org/proj-wolves/index.shtml

Black bears generally dont prey upon young canines as they are more omnivorous scavengers than their larger grizzly/brown bear cousins who actively hunt alot. However if a black bear came across a young canine with no protection it is possible they may kill and eat it... in some areas black bears prey on small housepets occasionally but not often as I have seen a Shih Tsu chase a Black bear away...LOL

100%
Small dogs, puppies and kittens are often seen flying off to their doom.

The following animals will eat your dog, cat, pet rabbit, chickens or even small people if they can-
Coyotes, Large birds- Hawks to Owls, Wild large Cats (Puma, Cougar, Bobcat, etc) Wild Canines, Bears and even very hungry opossums, skunks, nutrias and raccoons will attack.

So keep you small dog on a leash and under a patio table to "do his business" outside. I fake Owl on the roof top may help as well. They are a predator and most animals won't mess with them.

Birds of prey will eat a dog, and attack a puppy, if it is small enough, even with it's mother around, because of the size of the dog. But, they will hunt for fish, usually. Bears will not eat a dog, because they are fish, berry, and leaf eaters. They will however, attack and kill a dog if they feel threatened by it.

Young canines as in wolf cubs or Coyotes? I'm sure if they were hungry enough and the parents were not around.

There was a story in the news about a bald eagle carrying off a small dog in Alaska.

If they can catch them and carry them off, meat is meat to them and young meat is more tender.

But opportunity is usually rare as the parents are usually watchful, and make it dangerous or too much effort.

It has happened. The frequency is another problem, as one must figure out how to separate actual from urban legend repeated.

In Mongolia, Golden Eagles were trained to attack and kill full grown wolves. I found this hard to believe at first but it is indeed true.
