Well, what a very thought provoking question and a breath of fresh air to find this type of query in this forum, although I live in Nantucket and can't think of a thing to rhyme about.

The old man walks ever so slowly down my road
gazing at the fence row and the trash thrown out.

Dogs barking as he walks by
only intense of each step he makes

The air is chilled and crisp as the sun
is high.

Birds are flying cows are mooing
Cars are passing
He keeps on walking and not paying attention.

Cane in hand he trudges home to safe haven
Just glad he made another day
A day he might not see again.

A dull lamp illuminates the laziness I see
Stretched across the sofa
Sunken cushions scream for relief
Trash sits upon glass while
Motivation is delayed, deferred
to entertainment provided
By my little black box; Zenith

I lay here on my bed
just resting my head
answering someone's query
feeling a bit weary

the radio gently playing
my child next to me is laying
so sweetly sleeping
as time is slowly creeping

it is now past the time
for me to stop this rhyme
for I am about to sleep
and ask for Him my soul to keep

ok She stands on the footpath,
a smile on her face.

takes out her tambourine,
presses play on the tape machine.

as the music starts to play,
she begins to dance.

People are passing by,
glancing at this crazy lady.

No one wants to catch her gaze
and no one cares about her.

This little old lady,
dancing in the street

To some shes a problem that must be solved,
a deterrent to the tourists

But oblivious to stares
she continues dancing.

She's lost in her own world.
Insanity is bliss.
