Usually males are to be circumcised after birth if their parents, religion or beliefs allow. When you get older, It hurts more, now that all your senses are working and you know what pain is unless you like pain. Do you like pain? No one gets put to sleep anymore because of the fact that there are times when you just don't wake up, so we go with the alternative method and that is to localize it by hitting the base of the nerves located on 3 sides of your penis. Once numb, circumcision begins. It is the aftermath of the process that gets you. As far as sudden movements and NEVER think nasty thoughts because the last thing you need is an erection after just getting it done. You break open the sutures and begin to bleed and it is not a pretty sight. So stay calm, Nice salt soakes in the tub, do not apply any creams to it. Just let it dry out and heal on its own. Take Tylenol as needed for pain and in 2 weeks you be fine. Still no erections until about 6 weeks after. Your skin is still in the healing and adjustment phase. Good luck and welcome to the exposed world.

No it won't hurt. They will deaden any pain before the brief surgery with a cream that covers the whole penis or better yet with a shot of a painkiller to the penile nerve at the base of the penis. Ask your surgeon this and other questions. Afterward, you may have some discomfort for a few days. It is an outpatient process. Most men go back to school or work very shortly. You might consider taking a week or ten days off to rest until the bandage comes off. No sex, however, for about a month. No problem with peeing at any time.
Congratulations for having it done. You won't regret it. Things will be better all the way around.
The website below will explain everything in detail, both preparation and outcome. It has some great testimonies about the whole process from men who have been through it.

Just don't do it, man! You will regret it every day for the rest of your life. Sure they numb it while they're cutting so you don't jump off the table and run away. But it hurts - a lot - for weeks afterward. They'll tell you not to have an erection for a month - just try! Then it will finally heal up enough that you can have sex, and you'll find that it doesn't feel as good anymore. But it's too late -- it can't be put back. .

With nowadays technology you shouldn't feel a sting. They probably will numb it and put you too sleep. I was circumsized when I was young and its much healthier.

You will have a local or general anaesthetic and will not feel a thing! Circumcision is very beneficial - circumcised men have better hygiene, comfort, appearance to women, self-esteem and FAR better sexual sensation, so do their female partners, that's why most women who know the difference, much prefer a circumcised man. All men should be circumcised.

I am not sure WHY you are being circumsized but yes they numb you but you will have pain once the numbing agent wears off.

sounds painful, but I'm sure they'll give you something. You may end up also taking home some vicodin or darvocet for the pain as well.

They should numb that area that way you dont feel any pain, otherwise you could sue them, and they might put you to sleep.
