Yes dear, irritability/mood swings is one of the symptoms of PMS (premenstrual syndrome). Other symptons include, weight gain, headaches, mastalgia (breast pain), sleep changes, and a lack of coordination. Most people do not experience all the symptoms of PMS, usually one or more. There is not explanation for PMS just a few theories some of which are: Nutritional deficiency, Stress, Hormonal imbalance, and various emotional disorders. There is no cure for PMS. The best thing I could suggest for you to do to lessen or deal with your crabbiness is to realize that your feeling are temporal. You have to take control over your emotions, don't let them take control of you.

Yes this is normal. I was also in your situation at that age... my mom was tired of me threatening every man I saw with castration. try chamomile teas or just the smell that REALLY works. I found this one tea at Wal-Mart it is tazo, calm tea. It has chamomile flowers, hibiscus flowers, spearmint leaves, lemongrass, rose petals, blackberry leaves, safflower, peppermint leaves, sarsaparilla root, lemon balm leaf, licorice root.
