All I can tell you is what my 8 month old does. He has breakfast at about 7, lunch about 11, with a nap in between. He naps in the afternoon, has a cup of milk afterward, and then dinner at 5:30 give or take. He has dropped his "evening" nap. We just keep him up, give him his dinner, let him play a little, and then he has bath, small "top off" bottle, and bed at about 7pm. He sleeps 12 hours at night.

Your childs bedtime should be between 6-8pm. You should definately drop the last nap. At 8mos your baby should be getting close to eating three meals a day. Assuming that you are giving her solids. Read the book HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS, HAPPY CHILD. It is a life saver. It tells you what their schedule should be like and ways to make it work. It goes by age so you just go to the chapter that is for your child's age group. I have 2 children under two and both of them go to bed between 6-8 and wake up around 7 or 8. It is so great to have that alone time at night. If you go by this scedule that the book tells you to then the child will sleep through the night and be much happier during the day. The best part is that they want to go to bed when they're tired :)

My son has been on a schedule since he was 4 months old - of course it changes as he gets older. We work like this: wakes around 7:00/7:30, 6 oz bottle at 8:00 with jar of oatmeal. Nap around 10:00/10:30, roughly 3 hours after he wakes up. His nap lasts anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours. He takes a 6 oz bottle at 12:00 with a jar of food. Nap around 3:00 - again roughly 3 hours after he wakes from his morning nap. 6 oz bottle with jar of food at 4:00. He is then up until around 7:30/8:00, when he gets an 8 oz bottle and is off to sleep. For the past month he has been waking around 4:00 a.m for a bottle - I'm guessing he is hungry since he drinks it all.

I worked at a daycare for a while and at that age they started working on a little better of a schedule so its down by one yrs old Bkfst 700 am snack 9am lunch 1130 stack at 300 dinner 630
only one nap from 12-230 or 3 if you can get him or her on one big naptime it would be better that way bedtime at 8or 9 pm is a possibilty. The child is young now but if you get them on a one nap schedule it will be easier to start shortening the naps and when its 2 working on potty training

Throw the schedule out the window if you are having trouble sticking to it. At 8 months a baby needs 6 bottles or feeds /day a nap in the morning a nap in the afternoon and bed at 6-8 waking for a late feed around 11 is normal, but then should sleep through the night. how about eating closer to 6 then put her down for the night?
or just spend quiet time with her from 6-8, and let her sit at the table with you, with some cheerios or other soft finger food, or perhaps some potatoes off your plate. she needs to feel included in family affairs

My 8month old hates to nap but I try and get her to nap twice a day around 10am and 3pm, though there is no fixed length, usually 50mins!
Then eating she has a bottle as soon as awake in the morning and then on demand throughout the day (about every 3 hours) 6 oz but sometimes doesn't finish it all.
And solid food an hour after first bottle is breakfast, then lunch as close to 12 as her nap allows and supper about 4:30. She goes to bed for the night at about 7:30. She occasionally takes 4oz in the night to get her back to sleep.

it's hard to put a 8 month old on you're schedule, you kinda have to work around their's.i'm not sure where you're from but this was the schedule that i tried to put my son on.6:30am wake up time, jar of food with a 8 oz bottle of milk,12:30 pm jar of food with a 8 oz bottle then nap time.2:30 pm wake up time,5 oz bottle of apple juice with half jar of fruit.6:30 pm,jar of food with 5 oz apple juice then 6 oz bottle of milk.9:30 pm half jar of food with a 8 oz bottle of milk, then he should be good for the night.giving him something to eat before bedtime wll fill him up good and have a good night sleep.some babies also like a bath before but not every night it can cause skin problems.

Sounds good to me.
I'm amazed at the 4 hour difference in eating times. My kids would never go more than 2 hours then! But, that was fine with me.
