If stranded on a life raft or a remote place with no other sources of food and weeks away from rescue would you eat a dead casualty to survive till rescue. Would you vow your body as food if you die to the remaining survivors?

Personally I would never think of eating some one else, I'd rather die that eat another human. But you never really know what you would do if you were about to die. If you were in that situation your most likly out of you mind. So to sum I would never eat someone but people do crazy things when they are near death.

If the person is already dead, I would. This decision completey depends on another factor. If surviving for a few more days (untilt the dead peson is completely used up) will logically help me the chances of being recovered or found, then I would consume the body and survive. Otherwise if it looks like there is no hope at all , then I'd probably die. Technically human body is much much more cleaner than anything else we eat as meat. It's only the fact of eating another human being disgusts us.
Eating it cooked, is better. But if there is no such option, then if its warm weather, then it's better to eat quickly before the body goes to decomposing state. Otherwise if it is snow and ice conditions, the flesh can be cut and stored and consumed slowly.
Would I wow my body? Yes I would definitely. If I'm dead, they can free feel to consume my body. If they won't eat it, the worms and bacteria in the dirt will. Obviously it doesn't make any diference to me who eats my body, the humans or the worms and bacteria.
My only worry is that I hope I taste good ;-), and hopefully they have a bottle of chianti. LOL.

Depends on the situation. On a raft, no. Drinking the blood for water might be a "good" thing, but a food source would be of little use. Your life expectancy is about water, not food.

On a remote place like a mountain top, where water is plentiful and rescue is months away (Dahmer, party of 7), it might help you survive.

OK, Dahmer is not a good example. Donner would be more accurate for survival cannibalism rather than "social" cannibalism.

On a life raft you could not cook the meat, so no. There are too many diseases to be caught from uncooked meat to warrent the risk. If cooking is possible, and the rest of the survivors agree, I would if it were necessary, and there were no other options. Human meat is addictive to other humans, however, and I would see a doctor once back in civilization.

No, I would either hope a fish jumps in the boat or try to eat sea weed or something. Anyway, food wouldn't be what you would die from it would be lack of fresh water. You can't drink salt water and no I don't want anyone doing anything to me after I die.

Yes I would!!!

And I would haunt you if you didn't do the same with my body.

And I wonder just how many times these people, who would never consider this, have been in survival situation. Most of them probably think running out of candy or potato chips constitutes a survival situation.

I know better.

I would eat the other person if it were a young female. And, I would allow a young female to eat me.

Thanks for this question. I gave it alot of thought before answering.
