Huck possess a free spirit. He is not use to that kind of environment. Huck is not use to adult supervision/rules. He is not accustomed to routine,taking baths, dressing for occasion,going to church,use of manners,etc.

The widow's home is in direct conflict with his father's shack. At his father's home, Huck was a neglected/abused and often abandoned boy. He was left to his own. The difference is day and night.
