What Would You Do With a Tail Like This by Robin Page and Steve Jenkins is an excellent one. It may be a bit above the second grade level, but you can always read along with your child.

Any book that concurs about something interresting to the little one. Meaning books about bug, snakes, cool animals and other things for boys. For girl you want a book for a girl then you might want to get a book about horses or butterflys, mainly something girly. Have fun!
